Inter-Caste Marriage Award

The objective of this scheme is to eliminate the practice of untouchability by encouraging marriages between the Scheduled Castes and other castes, under which an incentive of ₹50,000/- or an amount as decided by the Government from time to time is awarded.

About the Inter-Caste Marriage Award Scheme

The scheme "Inter-Caste Marriage Award " has been launched by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The objective of the scheme is to eliminate the practice of untouchability by encouraging marriages between the Scheduled Castes and other castes.

Under this scheme, a person from another caste who marries a person from a Scheduled Caste receives ₹50,000/- or an amount decided by the Government from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Inter-Caste Marriage Award:

  1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.
  2. The age of the couple should not exceed 50 years.
  3. The marriage must be registered under the applicable Act/Rules.
  4. The applicant should not have received any Inter-Caste Marriage Award earlier.

How to Apply for Inter-Caste Marriage Award

Application mode: Offline

&gt; Application Process:

Step 1: The interested applicant can download the application form from the official website.

Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).

Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the Concerned District Welfare Officer/Tehsil Welfare Officer.

Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the Concerned District Welfare Officer/Tehsil Welfare Officer to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
