About the Term Loan Scheme (GSKVN) Scheme
The "Term Loan Scheme" is implemented by the Gujarat Safai Kamdar Vikas Nigam (GSKVN) under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to uplift safai kamdars (scavengers) and their dependents by providing financial assistance in the form of term loans to help them take up various trades or professions for self-employment. The scheme also aims to integrate them into the mainstream society by enabling them to move away from the traditional, inhuman, and hazardous occupation of manual scavenging and lead a life of dignity.
Under this scheme, beneficiaries are eligible to receive term loans ranging from ₹1,00,000 to ₹15,00,000 to start income-generating self-employment activities or projects.
