Higher Education Assistance Scheme

The scheme aims to encourage children of workers and reduce financial burden of education through higher educational assistance. It provides ₹20,000/- for Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery admission and ₹10,000/- for other graduate courses to merit students.

About the Higher Education Assistance Scheme Scheme

The "Higher Education Assistance Scheme" by the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board, Labour & Employment Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to provide encouragement to children of workers and reduce the financial burden of education by offering higher educational assistance to meritorious students, addressing the economic challenges faced by workers' families in pursuing quality education for their children. The scheme provides financial assistance of ₹20,000/- for students securing admission in Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery courses and ₹10,000/- for students securing admission in any other graduate level courses for students who have passed Standard 12 board examination in the year 2024 with 70 percent or above percentile. The applicant must be a child of a worker whose parent is working in a factory or institution in Gujarat state and whose parent has been contributing to the Labour Welfare Fund office for the last one year. The applications for this scheme are accepted online. The application deadline is the last date of February of the respective year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a child of a worker employed in a factory or institution in Gujarat state.
  • The applicant must have passed 12th Standard board examination in the respective year.
  • The applicant must have secured 70% or above percentile in 12th Standard board examination.
  • The applicant must have secured admission in Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery or any other graduate level course.
  • The applicant must ensure that their parent is working in a factory or institution located in Gujarat state.
  • The applicant must ensure that their parent has been contributing to the Labour Welfare Fund office for the last one year continuously.
  • The applicant must submit the application by the last date of February of the respective year.
  • The applicant must have completed 12th Standard examination specifically in the respective year.

How to Apply for Higher Education Assistance Scheme

Application mode: Online

> Registration Process

Step 1: The applicant must visit the Sanman Portal of the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board.

Step 2: On the home page, navigate to the ‘Citizen Login’ tab, and click ‘Please Register Here’.

Step 3: On the Registration page, provide your Aadhaar Card Number, select user type and then enter your Labour Welfare Fund Account Number. Click on ‘Fetch’ &amp; verify the details. Enter user details and create a password.

Step 1: The applicant must visit the Sanman Portal: https://sanman.gujarat.gov.in/ of the Gujarat Labour Welfare Board.

Step 2: On the home page, navigate to the ‘Citizen Login’ tab, and click ‘Login’. Login using your User ID and Password.

Step 3: Navigate to the Online Application Page of the scheme. In the form, fill in all the mandatory fields and upload all the mandatory documents in the specified format and size. For each uploaded document, the corresponding document number must be entered wherever required.

Step 4: Click &quot;Submit&quot; to submit your application. You&#39;ll receive a confirmation message. A confirmation email with the application Number will be sent on the registered email ID.

_*Applications made with incomplete/wrong details will not be entertained._

_*The final decision regarding assistance will be with the Welfare Commissioner. The jurisdiction will be Ahmedabad._

  • The applicant must not have secured admission in any foreign educational institution.
  • The applicant must not be pursuing education abroad under this scheme.
