IVRI Institute Scholarship For M.V.Sc. And Ph.D.

For Master Programme

The amount of the scholarship for the Master’s Degree programme is ₹ 7,560/- per month for 2 years with a contingent grant of ₹ 6,000/- per annum for two years

For Doctoral Programme

In the Doctoral programme, it is ₹ 13125/- per month for three years with a contingent grant of ₹ 10000/- per annum for three years.

IVRI Institute Scholarship for M.V.Sc. and Ph.D.

• The applicant must be admitted to the M.V.Sc. or Ph.D. programme through a competitive entrance examination conducted by the Indian Veterinary Research Institute.
• Candidates must maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.00 out of 10.00 at the end of each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.

For Master’s (M.V.Sc.) Programme

• The applicant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science in the relevant discipline as specified by the Veterinary Council of India.
• Candidates must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
• A minimum of 55% marks is required for SC/ST and sponsored candidates.

For Doctoral (Ph.D.) Programme

• The applicant must possess an M.V.Sc. degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university in India.
• General/OBC candidates must have a minimum CGPA of:

6.50 out of 10.00 scale, or

3.25 out of 5.00 scale, or

2.60 out of 4.00 scale.

• SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Sponsored candidates must have a minimum CGPA of:

5.50 out of 10.00 scale, or

2.75 out of 5.00 scale, or

2.20 out of 4.00 scale.

• Where only marks are awarded, General/OBC candidates must have at least 60% marks, while SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Sponsored candidates must have at least 50% marks.

Age Limit

• The minimum age for Ph.D. candidates is 23 years as on 1st August of the academic session.
• There is no upper age limit.

Step 1: Apply for Entrance Examination

1. Candidates seeking admission to the M.V.Sc. programme must apply for the All India Competitive Examination conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
2. Candidates applying for the Ph.D. programme must submit an application form through the Indian Veterinary Research Institute website after the admission advertisement is released.
3. Applicants must carefully select the subject for the entrance examination and submit the application before the prescribed last date.

Step 2: Appear in the Entrance Examination

1. Eligible candidates must appear in the competitive written entrance examination conducted on an All India basis.
2. The examination consists of multiple-choice questions and is conducted in English only.
3. Ph.D. entrance examinations are conducted at various IVRI campuses and regional stations, including Bareilly, Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Palampur.

Step 3: Merit List, Counseling, and Admission

1. Admission is granted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination and fulfillment of minimum qualifying marks.
2. For the M.V.Sc. programme, final selection and counseling are conducted by ICAR based on merit.
3. For the Ph.D. programme, the merit list is prepared according to written examination marks, followed by tie-breaking based on MVSc marks, BVSc marks, and age.
4. Selected candidates are admitted to the programme and become eligible for the IVRI Scholarship.
