Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Non-Commercial)

The scheme recognizes and honors non-commercial artistes who have contributed immensely for the development of tiatr, its song and music through yearly Tiatr Festivals/Competitions organized by Kala Academy and by organizing tiatrs in villages, as well as artistes who have enriched Konkani Tiatr.

About the Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Non-Commercial) Scheme

The scheme "Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Non-Commercial)" was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to recognize and honor non-commercial artistes who have contributed immensely for the development of tiatr, its song and music through yearly Tiatr Festivals/Competitions organized by Kala Academy and by organizing tiatrs in villages, as well as artistes who have enriched Konkani Tiatr and Konkani Song through All India Radio, Doordarshan and other media platforms. The scheme provides lifetime recognition awards consisting of a shawl, a memento, a citation, and a cash burse as fixed by Tiatr Academy of Goa, with special consideration given to excellence in acting, script writing, directing, singing, lyric writing, set designing, and innovative contributions to the tiatr stage.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be not less than 60 years of age.
  • The applicant should have at least 10 years contribution in the field of tiatr.
  • The applicant should demonstrate excellence as an actor, script writer, director, singer, lyricist, set designer, or other relevant role.
  • The applicant should have performed in at least 10 tiatrs if working as actor/singer/stage manager/lights provider/make-up artist/costume designer/live music/background music.
  • The applicant should have written/directed at least 10 tiatrs if working as a writer/director.

*Relaxation*

The age limit of 60 years may be relaxed if the health of the artiste is not well.

*Post-Selection Conditions*

*The selected artistes will have to be compulsorily present in person to receive the award.

*Tiatr Academy of Goa will confer Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards only once in a lifetime be it in Tiatr (Commercial/Non-Commercial) or Khell or Khell-Tiatr or Konkani Cinema.

How to Apply for Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Non-Commercial)

Application mode: Offline

*(This scheme operates through a recommendation system rather than direct individual applications)*

Step 1: Individuals or institutions can recommend deserving artistes by submitting the recommendation form along with complete nominee details. In the form, fill in all the mandatory fields and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).

Step 2: Submit the duly filled and signed recommendation form along with the documents to -

##### *Alternative Method*

The Executive Board of Tiatr Academy of Goa may also select deserving artistes from outside the recommended list through their own assessment and advertisements in local newspapers.

##### *Selection Process*

Step 1: Selection is done based on established criteria considering years of service, excellence in specific roles, awards received, innovations on tiatr stage, recorded works, contributions to other language dramas or films, published materials, minimum 10 years contribution, and specific performance requirements based on role.

Step 2: The Tiatr Academy of Goa Executive Board reviews all recommendations and makes final selections based on the established criteria, with successful candidates being notified for the award ceremony attendance.
