The Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), launched in 2015, is an extended component of Soil Health Management (SHM) under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
About the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana Scheme
The "Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)" is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India under the "National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA)". The scheme aims to promote organic farming through a cluster-based approach and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification. It supports farmers in converting conventional agricultural land into organic farming systems through financial assistance for certification, organic inputs, manure management, and marketing activities. The scheme is implemented over a period of 3 years, corresponding to the 36-month conversion period from conventional to organic farming. The funding pattern is 60:40 between the Central and State Governments, 90:10 for North Eastern and Himalayan States, and 100% Central assistance for Union Territories.

- The applicant must be a member of a cluster covering approximately 20 hectares (50 acres) in a contiguous area.

How to Apply for Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana
Application mode: Offline
Step 1: The eligible farmers form or join a Local Group under a cluster of approximately 20 hectares (50 acres).
Step 2: The Local Group submits an application to the Regional Council in the prescribed format.
Step 3: The Regional Council verifies the application and supporting documents.
Step 4: The Regional Council registers the Local Group under the PGS-India programme.
Step 5: User ID and password are issued for registration on the PGS portal.
Step 6: Farmers sign the prescribed pledge and undertake organic farming practices.
Step 7: Peer appraisals, field inspections, soil testing, and quality control activities are conducted.
Step 8: The Certificate Approval Committee evaluates compliance with PGS requirements.
Step 9: The Regional Council issues certification approval and Scope Certificate.
Step 10: Financial assistance is released based on approved activities and implementation progress.
