About the RMEWF-Financial Assistance For Vocational Training Of Widows Of ESM Scheme
The “Financial Assistance for Vocational Training of Widows of Ex-Servicemen (ESM)” scheme has been launched by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to widows of ex-servicemen to help them become self-reliant through vocational training. The scheme is implemented by the Kendriya Sainik Board.

> Financial Assistance
- For vocational training, AFFDF is provided as a one-time aid of ₹50,000/- (max) on successful completion of said vocational training.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant should be a widow of an ex-serviceman (ESM).
- The applicant’s spouse should be of rank up to Havildar or equivalent.
- The applicant should have completed vocational training from a recognized institution.
- The applicant should have relevant spouse details recorded in the service book of the ESM.
- The applicant should be recommended by the respective Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) and Rajya Sainik Board (RSB).

How to Apply for RMEWF-Financial Assistance For Vocational Training Of Widows Of ESM
Application mode: Online
> Application Process
Step 01: The applicant can visit the official website of Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat (KSBS) https://ksb.gov.in/
Step 02: Click on “Register” which is available on the homepage of the portal.
Step 03: Fill out the registration form with necessary details and upload the required document
Step 04: Save the application by clicking on the “Save” button and the saved details and password will be forwarded to the registered mail id.
Step 05: Click the activation link which is sent to the mail id to login into the KSB portal.
Step 06: Provide user name, password and verification code and click on the “Login “ button.
Step 07: Select the scheme name and start filling the new application form by entering the required details.
Step 08: Copies of the supporting documents duly attested by the respective Zila Sainik Welfare Officer (ZSWO) must be uploaded with the online application.
> Post-application Process
Step 01: Once the online application is submitted, ZSWO will scrutinize the online applications and give appointment to the applicant for verification.
Step 02: After successful verification, ZWSO will recommend the online application and forward the harp copy as well soft copy to Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) through Rajya Sainik Boards (RSBs) for further processing.
Step 03: Once the application reaches the Kendriya Sainik Board, the Section-in-charge verify the same and upload the printed list for the approval of JD (Welfare).
Step 04: Such applications of approval is then moved for sanction of the competent authority in one lot, preferably every quarter.
> Payment Procedure
Step 01: After the submitted application has been approved, the same is processed for payment by the Welfare department.
Step 02: After verifying the service number, name, bankers, IFS Code and account number, the Welfare department forward the batch list to Accounts Section for payment, which make the payment directly via Electronic Clearing System (ECS).
