1. The applicant should be an Indian national.
2. The institutions must be registered in India.
3. The applicant should be an individual or institution including voluntary organizations, corporate entities, academic institutions, or uniformed forces.
4. The applicant should have worked in disaster management fields such as prevention, mitigation, preparedness, rescue, response, relief, rehabilitation, or research.
5. The applicant should have demonstrated achievements in saving human lives.
6. The applicant should have contributed to reducing disaster impact on lives, livelihoods, and property.
7. The applicant should have mobilized resources effectively during disasters.
8. The applicant should have undertaken immediate relief work in affected areas.
9. The applicant should have used technology innovatively in disaster management.
10. The applicant should have worked on disaster mitigation in hazard-prone areas.
11. The applicant should have contributed to community capacity building and awareness.
12. The applicant should have developed or supported early warning systems.
13. The applicant should have contributed to research, innovation, and rehabilitation efforts.

> Application Process

Step 01: Visit the National Awards Portal: https://www.awards.gov.in

Step 02: Register/Login using official credentials of the recommending authority

Step 03: Fill in the nomination form with complete details

Step 04: Upload required documents, including citation and verification certificate

> Selection Process

Step 01: The first-level screening is conducted by a committee headed by Secretary, NDMA.

Step 02: The second-level evaluation includes consultation with State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs) and District**** Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and subject experts.

Step 03: The third-level screening is conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs with expert representation.

Step 04: The final selection is made based on merit, impact, and authenticity of contributions and the award is announced on 23rd January annually.
