About the Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad Scheme
The scheme "Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad", offered by the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, provides financial assistance to eligible students. Covers actual expenses or up to $38,000 annually, plus an additional $2,000 for books, equipment, typing, thesis binding, and other academic work.
Total Amount:
A maximum of $40,000 annually or its equivalent in the local currency is provided.
Bond Requirement:
The applicant must sign a bond for the entire amount received under the scheme.

- The applicant should be under 25 years of age for postgraduate studies and under 35 years of age for PhD research.
- The applicant should have secured admission to a study program abroad.
- The applicant should have qualified for international tests such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, or IELTS.
- The applicant should be pursuing a PhD and have:
- 75% marks in postgraduate studies in the relevant subject.
- Two years of teaching experience or an M.Phil degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university or government college in Madhya Pradesh.
How to Apply for Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad
Application mode: Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should visit (during office hours) the Commissioner Higher Education for new education and concerned Regional Additional Director, and request the hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the concerned authority.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the authority.
Step 4: Request a receipt or acknowledgement from the concerned authority to whom the application has been submitted. Ensure that the receipt contains essential details such as the date and time of submission, and a unique identification number (if applicable).
