Tiatr Competition
The "Tiatr Competition" aims to encourage and promote the unique Goan theatre form of Tiatr. Participation in this scheme is open to Goan institutions registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (with renewed registration). Entries are invited through press notes in local dailies.
About the Tiatr Competition Scheme
The "Tiatr Competition" is organised annually by the Kala Academy under the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to encourage and promote the unique Goan theatre form of Tiatr. Participation in this scheme is open to Goan institutions registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (with renewed registration). Entries are invited through press notes in local dailies. The institutions fulfilling the scheme’s requirements and submitting entries within the stipulated date are allowed to stage their Tiatr performances as per the sequence finalised by Kala Academy.
Benefits
- Free auditorium with permissible infrastructure (extra facilities chargeable).
- Hire charges paid for two vehicles for transportation of artistes and stage materials (as per Kala Academy norms).
- 80% of gate collection from ticket sales is given to the participating institution.
- Prizes awarded based on recommendations from a panel of judges.

How to Apply for Tiatr Competition
Application mode: Offline
Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the Kala Academy, Goa, and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the Office of Tiatr Academy of Goa, Block A, 2nd Floor, Campal Trade Centre, Campal, Panaji, Goa.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the academy staff.
