About the VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages) Scheme

The scheme “VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages)” was launched by the All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India. The scheme aims to create a knowledge base by conducting conferences, seminars, and workshops in twenty-two Indian languages. The scheme provides a maximum funding of ₹2,00,000/- per programme to eligible institutions, along with an honorarium of up to ₹5,000/- per session for subject experts. The applications for this scheme are accepted online.

Benefits

  • The scheme provides financial assistance up to a maximum of ₹2,00,000/- per programme.
  • The honorarium for experts is a maximum of ₹5,000/- per expert and per session.
  • Financial assistance shall be reimbursed against actual expenses after the successful completion of the conference, seminar, or workshop and the submission of requisite documents.
  • An advance of 50% of the sanctioned amount will be released only to the Government Institutions.

##### *Terms and Conditions*

  • The approved conference, seminar, or workshop must be conducted within six months.
  • A minimum of one-third of the resource persons must be from an industry background.
  • One expert can give a maximum of two lectures for the conference, seminar, or workshop.
  • The coordinator must maintain a webpage for the event on the website of the institute.
  • The institution must post the link to the funding schemes of the All India Council for Technical Education on its website and the event webpage.
  • Any change in the programme schedule, coordinator, or venue requires prior approval from the council, failing which the grant offer is automatically withdrawn.
  • Funds sanctioned for a particular event cannot be utilized for any other programme or conference.
  • If the event is cancelled, it must be reported immediately, and the grantee must refund the entire amount with a 10% simple interest.
  • Any unutilized amount must be refunded to the All India Council for Technical Education through Real-Time Gross Settlement or National Electronic Funds Transfer only.
  • The logo of the All India Council for Technical Education must be prominently displayed on all online and offline information, stage backdrops, podiums, and publicity materials, which must be in an Indian language.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be an AICTE-approved institute, including institutions offering Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Computer Applications programs.
  • The applicant must identify a co-coordinator who must be a faculty member with at least seven years of experience in teaching and research.
  • The applicant must ensure the academic background of the coordinator, co-coordinator, resource persons, and paper presenters is in conformity with the theme of the proposed event.
  • The applicant must ensure participants are strictly faculty members of approved institutions, research scholars, Master of Technology scholars, research fellows, or working professionals from the industry.
  • The applicant must ensure the event is conducted in one of the twenty-two specified Indian languages, such as Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, or Urdu.
  • The applicant must limit their application to receive the grant to once in a year.

##### *Application Process*

Step 1: *Accessing the Portal*

  • The applicant must visit the official portal of the All India Council for Technical Education by navigating to https://www.aicte-india.org/atal in their web browser. - The institution must locate the separate module designated for the Vaani scheme to begin the application process.

Step 2: *Submitting the Application Form*

  • The coordinator of the institution must fill out the online application form within the specified dates, ensuring all mandatory fields are accurately completed.
  • The applicant must upload the required enclosures, including the bilingual brochure and the letter of authorization, to successfully submit the initial proposal.

##### *Post-Application Processes*

Step 1: *Screening and Evaluation*

  • The submitted applications will undergo an initial screening and scrutiny process at the council level.
  • Following this, an expert committee will evaluate the applications to determine their merit and alignment with the scheme&#39;s objectives.

Step 2: *Final Decision and Sanction*

  • The final decision will be taken by the council based on the recommendations of the experts and the availability of scheme funds.
  • Once approved, a sanction letter for the conference, seminar, or workshop will be officially sent to the selected institution.

Step 3: *Document Submission and Disbursement*

  • After successfully completing the event, the institution must upload the required geotagged photographs, videos, and media links to the official portal.
  • The institution must also submit the requisite hard copies and expenditure documents within fifteen days to receive the final financial reimbursement.

**There is a one-time application and one-time processing allowed per financial year.*
